David Royston Bailey, CBE is an iconic British fashion and portrait photographer. He work has appeared in many top fashion magazines, most noteably the British Issue of Vogue magazine. He has also portrayed many celebrities from the Rolling Stones through to Andy Warhol. 
His images are characterized by stark backgrounds and dramatic lighting effects. In 2001 David Bailey was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire "for services to Art".
